2022: in memoriam

well, here we are. the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. somehow we all made it through, at least the ones reading this. personally, i lost a lot this year, mostly pieces of myself and preconceived notions about others. grieving hard-to-define emptiness where there was bedrock before. lots more reliance on myself by necessity. at least i got a few good songs out of the mess, right? enough wallowing though, today is supposed to be about optimism! and resolutions that go out of style within the first few weeks!

this year, i resolve to be a better friend and partner. i resolve to get at least one new piercing. i resolve to put together a new musical outlet, ideally in the form of a new solo album. i resolve to show up for myself the way i would want others to show up for me. i resolve to further the growth of my mental state by continuing therapy and medications.

i sure hope this is the year that everything starts to fall into place - i could use a big win this year
